I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of

your despatch of the 21st. ultimo (3730/1919), enquiring

as to the identity of one Dr. August Gaston, alias August

Bach.

I have caused enquiries to be made at the French

Legation and I have been informed that nothing whatever is

known there of any person or persons of those names; or of any offer of services having been made as stated in the

affidavit enclosed in your despatch.

His Majesty's Legation likewise have no record of

such a person.
